Understanding molecular mechanisms of cell death

Our lab’s current research interests are primarily to investigate the mechanisms of cell death of potential anti-leishmanial and anti-cancer agents (natural and synthetic molecules). Besides routine cell & molecular biology techniques, we rely heavily on high-resolution microscopy such as Transmission Electron Microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy and Laser Scanning Confocal Microscopy for investigating the morphological and physiological effects of lead molecules and drug candidates. Evaluation of natural and synthetic molecules for antileishmanial      and anticancer activity/ drug repurposing
