Key achievements

The Institute has achieved several major milestones both in terms of drug discovery and development as well as in training the next generation of scientists in pharmaceutical research.

Discovery and development of 12 new drugs including currently marketed drugs Arteether (Brand Name: E-mal), BESEB (Brand Name: Memory Sure), Centchroman (Brand Name: Saheli)
Built a strong patent portfolio of 350 Indian Patents and 90 International patents
Transferred 130+ indigenous technologies to pharmaceutical companies, enabling the manufacture of low cost generics
Contributed 10,000+ research articles in peer reviewed journals
Trained > 2000 PhD students with alumni in national and international Institutions (Academia/Industry)
