Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Facility and Research

The Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Facility & Research (SAIF&R) division consists of multidisciplinary scientists who carry out research using highly sophisticated equipment/facilities in diverse areas of life and chemical sciences, aligning with the institute’s mandate. It includes ultra-structural studies and sub-cellular localization of molecules of biological interest (TEM/SEM/confocal microscopy), analytical chemistry, structure elucidation of small (active pharmaceutical ingredient) and complex molecules, systematical exploration of plant resources, in-vitro biosynthesis of complex natural products, and bioprospecting of the floral diversity of India.
